Business Continuity & Resilience
Updated: December 2025
Our Commitment to Operational Resilience
We understand that you rely on us to manage your financial future, regardless of what is happening in the world around us. Consistent with our fiduciary duty and regulatory obligations, Canyon Creek Investment Advisors has established a robust Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Plan. This plan is designed to ensure the safety of our personnel, the protection of your data, and the continuity of our critical operations during a crisis.
1. Prepared for Every Scenario
Disruptions can range from minor to severe. Our plan addresses various scenarios, including:
Localized Disruptions: Such as a building fire or power outage at our primary office.
Regional Events: Such as severe weather, natural disasters, or widespread infrastructure failures.
Pandemic or Health Events: Protocols for sustained remote operations to ensure safety while maintaining service levels.
2. Data Protection & Recovery
Your financial records are our most vital asset. We employ a "defense in depth" strategy to ensure your data is never lost:
Cloud-Based Redundancy: Our critical systems—including client relationship management and document storage—are cloud-based. This allows us to access vital information securely from any location with an internet connection.
Daily Backups: We maintain rigorous backup procedures to ensure that our books and records are preserved.
Rapid Restoration: In the event of a technology failure, we have established specific objectives to restore systems and data promptly, minimizing any downtime.
3. Operational Mobility
Our firm is built to be agile. If our primary office becomes inaccessible, our plan activates immediately:
Remote Operations: All staff are equipped and trained to work remotely using secure, firm-issued devices and encrypted VPN connections.
Alternate Locations: We have identified alternate work locations to ensure our team can regroup and continue operations if our main facility is compromised.unication. Please do not send sensitive personal information (e.g., Social Security numbers) via unencrypted email. Please use our secure client portal for such transmissions.
4. Leadership Continuity
We recognize that smaller firms face unique risks regarding key personnel. Our plan includes specific "key person" succession protocols. This ensures that in the unlikely event the Principal is unavailable, there is a clear chain of command and designated individuals authorized to manage critical functions and communicate with clients.
5. Communication is Key
During a disruption, information is critical. Our plan prioritizes transparent communication:
Client Notification: We have alternative means of communication to keep you informed about the status of our operations and how to access your accounts.
Custodian Access: Remember that your assets are held by independent qualified custodians (such as Charles Schwab or Interactive Brokers). Even in the unlikely event that CCIA is temporarily unreachable, you will always have direct access to your funds through your custodian.
6. Tested & Verified
A plan is only as good as its execution. We do not let our Business Continuity Plan gather dust. We review and test the plan at least annually to ensure it remains effective and relevant. These tests allow us to identify gaps and update our procedures so that we are always ready when it counts.
